Angel'in Heavy Syrup biography Exactly a fateful encounter. In 1989, Mineko ITAKURA (voices, bass) occasionally came across Mine NAKAO (guitar, voices) at a live house in Osaka, Japan, where HANADENSHA played a gig with the collaboration of a Japanese independent label Alchemy Records and the chairman Jojo Hiroshige. Both of these two promising female players warmed up to each other toward their original psychedelic rock world and in the following year, with a much help from Jojo, the psychedelia descended to earth, as a all-female rock trio ensemble ANGEL'IN HEAVY SYRUP. IV' is a great album - however it needs some rounds to establish the brilliance. ANGEL'IN HEAVY SYRUP are standing for a psychedelic style which combines compositional attempt and jamming in a rather sophisticated way.

Angel'in Heavy Syrup was formed in 1990 by singer and bassist Mineko Itakura and guitarist Mine Nakao, who are the only constants in the lineup. Drafting drummer Yoko Mandrake in to complete the original lineup, the trio found favor with Hiroshige, who signed them to his Alchemy Records imprint and produced their first album, Angel'in Heavy Syrup I, which was released in Japan in 1991 and in the United States by Subterranean Records the following year. Before their second album was recorded, some lineup changes took place  . Their first album to be released simultaneously in Japan and the United States, the beautifully packaged Angel'in Heavy Syrup IV was also the first to feature English translations of Itakura's Japanese lyrics in the liner notes.

Angel'in Heavy Syrup was a Japanese psychedelic rock band formed in 1990 in Osaka. Emerging from the Japanese noise rock scene, they were influenced by krautrock bands such as Amon Düül II, but drew primarily from psychedelic and progressive rock, resulting in their characteristic ethereal neo-psychedelic sound Contents. 1999 - Angel'in Heavy Syrup IV. Even if less powerful overall, IV (Monotremata, 2000) shows further progress. In the light guitar boogie of First Love the trio's counterpoint weaves elements of progressive-rock. The epic instrumental cavalcade of Voyage opens for a heavenly folk hymn. The same solemn drumming and dark guitar riffs sustain the longest track, Fate, with a touch of Siouxsie Sioux's dark punk.
