I'm Coming Home is an album by American pop singer Johnny Mathis that was released on September 21, 1973, by Columbia Records and was mainly composed of material written by the songwriting team of its producer, Thom Bell, and Linda Creed. Unlike several of the Mathis albums before it, I'm Coming Home relied primarily on new songs and included only two covers of established chart hits, both of which were by The Stylistics ("I'm Stone in Love with You" and "Stop Look and Listen to Your Heart").

Album "Coming Home" (EP). What was I thinking babe? All the mistakes I made I should've never left your side When you were there for me You set my worries free Now I got to change my mind. Ooh ooh ooh I'm coming home Ooh ooh ooh I'm coming home I'm coming home.

The cheesy cover, exceptionally uncool band photos, and fawning liner notes by New York DJ Lee Gray are enough to tell you this one's gonna have some camp value. Apparently formed in Michigan in the early 1960s, Tino and Revlons spent several years steadily working the east cost club circuit, recording occasional local singles: - 'Story of Love' b/w Black Bermudas and Knee Socks' (Mark catalog number 154). 'Wedding Bells Will Ring' b/w 'Heidi' (Pip catalog number 4000). 1965's 'Lazy Mary Memphis' b/w 'I'm Coming Home' (Dearborn catalog number D-530). 1966's 'Lotta Lotts Lovin'' b/w 'Red Sails In the Sunset' (Dearborn catalog number D-540). While none of the singles proved a commercial blockbuster, they generated sufficient attention for Dearborn to finance an album.

The album is lighter and more reflective than anything he had done before. It was his first album without a sinister title like The Ultimate Sin, Diary of a Madman, or Talk Of The Devil. Mama" is Ozzy's pet name for his wife.

The album did spawn one single in the title track, "I'm Coming Home. It peaked on the Billboard R&B and pop charts at 92 and 75, respectively. Its flow is as beguiling as a cool summer's night. Mathis even provides his own renditions of the seldom heard "I'm Stone in Love with You," "Life Is a Song Worth Singing," and "Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart). Mathis' articulation is just as precise as the Stylistics version, but with a classical feel.
