The Tripsichord Music Box was an American rock and psychedelic rock group of the 1960s. During their time as They were managed and produced by Matthew Katz, who also worked with Jefferson Airplane, Moby Grape and It's a Beautiful Day. Evolved out of The Ban (1965-66) then The Now (9) (1967). Became Tripsichord Music Box (1968) when connecting with Matthew Katz and Marcus Uzilevsky aka Rusty Evans in San Francisco.
Cherished by fanatic collectors, today Tripsichord Music Box (aka Tripsichord) is one of those all but forgotten exponents of West Coast psychedelia. What makes them interesting to us is the fact they were contemporaries of outfits such as The Dead, Jefferson Airplane, It's a Beautiful Day and Moby Grape (sharing the same management as the latter two).
