GDP's 'Useless Eaters' is a thought-provoking and adventurous experimental rap album that focuses heavily on the downfalls of society on Earth, mainly with the environment. After venturing out and absorbing this album once again on the streets at 3 in the morning it's become clear, on more facets of life than I ever realized, how important Useless Eaters is. It's hard to describe how ahead of it's time this record is without listening. From climate change, to equal rights across the board to dangerous levels of self-cynicism as well as clout bashing, GDP is on point on his critiques and beliefs and at the same time is delivering soul shattering rhymes layered over. 7. 3w. By Chris Cabel · On April 27, 2011. Coming out of West Orange, NJ, GDP is a homegrown do-it-yourself hero. Combining a smooth yet gritty flow, hard lyrics, and grimy yet club-worthy beats, GDP has continued to impress with his sophomore release Useless Eaters. Released on March 20 via Run for Cover Records, Useless Eaters is an eleven track romp through the cynical mind of the young rapper. The album opens with Neural Circuitry, a fast-paced track with a cymbal loop-heavy beat, and great use of 8-bit tones. When first hearing GDP you notice his unique attitude and flow. I immediately heard a likeness to the rapper in Chronic Future, but with a smoother delivery.

After years of relentless touring and consistent releases, GDP has gained respect from many of the same hip hop legends that inspired him growing up as well as forward-thinking hardcore and punk artists. Combining futuristic grime with homage to hip hop’s past, Useless Eaters is GDP’s most focused effort as well as his darkest.
