The signing to RCA would have involved producing a jungle album, however, owing to a life-threatening car accident which required an extended period of convalescence, coupled with starting a family, DJ Ron withdrew from DJing, focussing his attention on recovery and family. For over a decade, DJ Ron continued to release music under different psudonyms and different musical genres. Crackman The Return (1993). Code Red DJ Ron Remix, Mo Musik (1994). Mo Musik, Wicked (1994). Dangerous, Cannan Land (1994). I Like It (Remix), Crackman (1995).

2018 sees Ron Djing again and with regular appearances all over the UK. London Some'Ting Recordings will be returning in 2019.

can someone confirm r p m . . . . ?

33 RPM. Pretty long track. Pressing is very loud. Big props to anyone who can mix this in from the intro. It is possible but very difficult as all you have to go on are the hi-hats (before the Amen kicks in) which you'd have to strain to hear when mixing it in. Remember hearing a tape where Moose knew exactly where this was gonna drop from the intro. Again, very hard to do unless you hear it ona crystal clear system & concentrate.. Anyways, I'm rambling

Where did you get this info from ??? Thank you.

African Chant is a stone cold classic from the golden era. Everybody and their dog rinsed this! It doesnt get better than this, easily in my Jungle Top 5 and there´s tough competition!

Anyone remember the original pop track ('africa'?) that this samples?
  • Grarana
I have it :) But this far surpasses it - thi strack was in one of the first Jumping Jack sets on Kiss I ever heard- pure inspiration....
  • Kelerius
Yeah that was History feat. Q Tee - Africa, lovely tune from 1990.

Yes, indeed.... 'Africa' by History featuring Q-Tee, on SBK. I remember thinking at the time that it had the potential to be an incredibly haunting and profound tune, but the repetition of certain phrases let it down for me. Four years on, and DJ Ron produces this masterpiece; the 'African Chant' mix is particularly spine-tingling, with sufficient melodic soulboy elements to ensure that it will never date! Wonderful use of the vocal sample from Dee Sharp's version of 'Let's Dub It Up', too!! Top ten material, as I would say!!
