30 years on, I still think the very existence of the inferior Album Version of this track is a complete injustice to a great song - and is a black mark on the otherwise flawless "Control" album. The Dance Remix from the 12" single is leaps & bounds above the version they put on the album.Heavier New Jack Swing rhythm, better percussion, additional instrumentation, etc. Why they didn't make an edit of that mix and put *that* on the album is beyond me (especially since none of the other singles - Control, Nasty, WHYDFML, TPP - have stripped-down album versions compared to their respective 12" mixes).C'mon...just listen to how weak WITOY sounds on the album compared to the other non-ballads. Surely an edit of the Dance Remix would have better complimented the rest of it.No idea what Jam & Lewis were thinking when they went this route.

An edit of that awesome Dance Remix exists--I've heard it on the radio decades ago when it first came out, but so far I've been unsuccessful in tracking it down, it could be a single release in other countries, or a bonus track on some CD, but I really have no idea. Has anyone verified the promo single of this, if it's the Dance Remix edit?A YouTube video of the Dance Remix edit can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mH4mVsWgOnE
