This live disc is a very good chronicle of a classic hard rock band who were very nearly at the top of their game. Granted, the concert that is chronicled here took place very early in their career, and many of their glory songs had yet to be written, let alone recorded. Still, the band's performance and the quality of the material showed that this was a group of musicians who were really deserving of bigger and better things
Stackridge played their first gig at The Temple in Wardour Street on 6 February 1970 and were the opening and closing act at the first Glastonbury Festival in September of the same year. They constantly toured the . for the next three years, slowly building a fanatic following and went on to release 5 albums during the 70s - including the George Martin produced "The Man in the Bowler Hat" - before disbanding in 1977

CARAVAN's "Live at the BBC" displays their live capabilities which IMHO greatly outshines their studio work.
