The album was released through Candlelight Records in May 2007. Manes started their career as a fully fledged black metal act and recorded three demos ("Maanens Natt (1993)", "Ned I Stillheten (1994)" and "Til Kongens Grav De Dde Vandrer (1995)") and one full-length studio album called "Under ein Blodraud Maane (1999)" in that style. The music style on "How the World Came to an End" takes Manes newfound electronic rock/metal music in an even more electronic/ambient direction and the metal elements are almost gone from the music now. The vocals are predominantly in ordinary clean singing style but as a new thing in Manes musical universe theres rap style vocals on the album too.

She ran out of her house screaming that the world was coming to an end. Her father caught her on the road and calmed her down. She appreciated life a lot more after that and lived her life to the fullest. Love & Family Relationship: The love and trust between father and daughter is glaring. When the was worried about the world coming to an end, the first person that she thought to consult on this issue was her father. His response to her childish fears, in turn, highlights the easy relationship between the two. Daddy's care in covering his daughter after her mad dash through the turnrow is also an indication of the love that he has for his child.

MANES "How The World Came To An End". Black Metal from Norway. Detailed Description.

The end of the story is also interesting as the narrator appears to reconnect with the world. She sees everything around her as being beautiful. Any fear that the narrator had is gone. Thanks to the reassurances of her father. That she can continue to live her life as she sees fit without having to worry about the world coming to an end. The independence that the narrator showed through her ability or desire to sin has returned and no longer is she hindered by what may happen to the world.

This is how I felt after hearing new album by Manes. Imagine big jar filled with anything from psychedelic of early Pink Floyd, electronic madness of Apex Twin, beauty of Radiohead, rap passages, metal riffs, black metal atmosphere, jazzy instrumentation and a lot more. Then imagine this insanity at all times sounding incredibly generic and natural. I found my self thinking how certain rhythm feels like it was written perfectly for certain melancholic melody line only to seconds later think the same thing about the same rhythm and the rap passage that came out of nowhere. That is not the case with How The World Came To An End which at all times presents a beautiful soundscape and makes all the strange elements feel like natural part and even more, makes them feel like necessity.
