by Kenyon HopkinThe Quiet Ones (not to be confused with the children's rock group of the same name) is a soft indie rock collective with members located across the country but mainly based in Seattle. Core members include John Totten (vocals, bass), David Totten (guitar), Chris Totten (drums, keyboard), and Mason Neely (production, drums, keyboard). The group began in 2001 in Knoxville, TN, by John Totten with help from Neely. They were joined by Totten's brothers, as well as friend Ryan Dixon for the first album, Your Inner Ear, released in 2004 on In Advance Records. Meanwhile, the Totten brothers moved to Seattle and maintained contact with Neely by sending tracks through the mail.
The album was released in 2002 but many of the tracks were new arrangements of songs dating from more than 20 years earlier.

Eventually, my brother turns to me and asks why I always act so "sketchy". When he made this remark, it was followed by another family member with the quote in the title. I might be misunderstanding, but I get a feeling sometimes that my own family doesn't even trust me sometimes because I'm quiet.
