4. 5. Rhapsody For Saxophone And Orchestra. Then comes Honegger's titan, "Pacific 231," to which Bernstein gives a five-star performance. The second half of the album moves toward the more 'famous' school of French composers - indeed, Milhaud, Debussy and Ravel all knew each other rather well. The Symphony No. 5 by Swiss composer Arthur Honegger is a three-movement work for orchestra written in the autumn of 1950. Its subtitle Di tre re is a reference to the D (re) played by the solo timpani and basses at the end of each movement Honegger's Fifth Symphony is a three-movement work with a total running time of about 22 minutes.
