Born to serve I cannot see Life of pain trying to execute me Tribulation persecution of the weak Souls are lost jest to satisfy the hunger Immortal blood of those upon my hands Seeking refuge the promised holy land Eternity is the price worth the cost Servant slays the master. Life is of no value I worship what I hold close to my heart Master, please don't betray me I pray your words will find their place in me.

Devastation (4) ‎– Idolatry. Devastation (4) ‎– Idolatry. Label: Punishment 18 Records ‎– P18R 130. Format: CD, Album, Reissue. DEVASTATION Idolatry 4K/UHD 43:52.

Devastation’s sophomore album was an improvement from the debut, and barely crossed the line into classic territory. Idolatry sounds like an entirely new band: a collection of driven musicians, who tightened their delivery with skull smashing effectiveness. Idolatry unfolds with the typical thrash metal intro, reminiscent of a cheesy, horror movie death scene. Production on the album is slightly too muddy. Idolatry could have sounder even more menacing had the guitars been clearer. Minor complaints aside, this is an essential thrash album. Along with Demolition Hammer’s Epidemic of Violence, Idolatry is the very definition of heavy.

Idolatry (1991) by Devastation. Labels: Combat Records. Genres: Death Metal, Thrash Metal Members: Rodney Dunsmore, Dave Burk, Henry Elizondo, Edward Vasquez, David Lozano. This album is really religious. It doesn't actually pinpoint one specific religion as it features symbols of multiple Abrahamic religions on the album cover.

This album is not geared towards the casual metal fan. Idolatry may be a grueling experience for some due to the never let up approach taken on this record. There is absolutely no variation from the thrash/death metal style and the album roars at you from start to finish. If you like riffs, this album has them in spades. Devastation were a technically proficient band and they crafted quality riffs, with more than a few featured in most tracks
