Johann Sebastian Bach - Partita for solo violin Nº 2 in D minor, BWV 1004. Hilary Hahn, Violin, 1997. The awesome and eloquent Partita No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1004, seems for the most part to follow the conventional outline of the Baroque suite, opening with an earnest and purposeful Allemanda unexpectedly free of chordal multiple-stopping.

The Partita in D minor for solo violin (BWV 1004) by Johann Sebastian Bach was written between 1717 and 1720. It is a part of his compositional cycle called Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin. The partita contains five movements, given in Italian as: Allemanda. Except for the ciaccona, the movements are dance types of the time, and they are frequently listed by their French names: Allemande, Courante, Sarabande, Gigue, and Chaconne.

Johann Sebastian Bach - Orchestral Suite No. 3 D major, BWV. 1068: V. Gigue Orchestral Suite No. Gigue Johann Sebastian Bach.

ALLEMANDE q 66 Unlike the Allemande of the first Partita in B minor, this one is more melodic than polyphonic. We must therefore follow the upward or downward gestures with levels of dynamic and phrasing that match.

Bach : Partita bwv 1004 Complete. Bach wrote hundreds of pieces for organ, choir, as well as many other instruments. He spent most of his life as a church organist and a choir director. His music combines profound expression with clever musico-mathematical feats, like fugues and canons in which the same melody is played against itself in various ways.
