Terra is the fourth studio album by Portuguese fado singer Mariza, released on 30 June 2008. At the Latin Grammy Awards, it was nominated for both Best Folk Album and Best Producer. Contributions from Cape Verdean singer Tito Paris, Argentine guitarist Dominic Miller, and Spanish singer Concha Buika give Terra a jazz, African, and Latin influence. Also included at the end of the album is a cover of Charlie Chaplin's famous ballad, "Smile".

Terra - the 4th studio record by fado singer Mariza. The fourth album, Terra, with musical direction by José Limón, summing up much of the new repertory she had been performing in her latest tours, including such hits as Alfama and Rosa Branca and partnerships with Tito Paris, Concha Buika, Rui Veloso, Ivan Lins and Dominic Miller.

Terra feels like an attempt to move Mariza into the musical mainstream. She's already established herself at the forefront of fado, as one of the leading performers of the emotive Portuguese style, and there's no doubt she possesses a wonderful voice. But the addition of several guests, such as Chucho Valdés, Ivan Lins, and Tito Paris (among others) seems to open up the seams between fado and other genres, including Brazilian music and jazz.

The velvety strings that characterised Mariza's third studio album Transparente have been replaced by frequently-used hand drums, three pianists and a woozy muted trumpet, which helps lend Beijo De Saudade a rather Cuban feel, even if it is a Cape Verdean morna, featuring the other very welcome guest vocalist, Tito Paris.
