Though it'll hard for me I'm going to leave her free 'cause that would be the best philosophy Then she'll come to me So I feel that to be real that. This little bird, she can fly away; No salt on her tail-- No cage to make her stay

The Mamas & the Papas is the self-titled second studio album by the American folk rock vocal group The Mamas & the Papas, released in 1966. The lead off single, "I Saw Her Again", reached number 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and number 11 in the UK Singles Chart

The Mamas & The Papas were formed by husband and wife John and Michelle Phillips, formerly of The New Journeymen, and Denny Doherty, formerly of The Mugwumps. The last member to join was Cass Elliot, Doherty's bandmate in The Mugwumps. The group considered calling itself The Magic Cyrcle before switching to The Mamas and the Papas as apparently inspired by the Hells Angels, whose female associates were called "mamas". In 1966 they recorded their second album The Mamas And The Papas. I Saw Her Again" was the first single from the album before release. When the album was released in 1966, it peaked at number four in the US, continuing the band's success. Words of Love" was released as the second single and "Dancing in the Street" was released as the third and final single. Deliver came in the autumn of 1966.

¦â€¦ï¢œause that would be the best philosophy. This little bird, she can fly away; No salt on her tail--. No cage to make her stay. Though it抯 har d for me, I抦 going to leave her free. Because that would be the best philosophy. This little bird she can fly away; No salt on her tail. No cage to make her stay).

The songs may not quite match up to the selection or the sense of free experimentation that went into the first album, but coming from any other group, the contents of The Mamas & The Papas LP would have been considered a triumph. No Salt on Her Tail" and "Trip, Stumble & Fall" could have been outtakes from the first album, while "Dancing Bear" put them into Peter, Paul & Mary territory
