Days of Future Past" is a storyline in the Marvel Comics comic book The Uncanny X-Men issues published in 1981. It deals with a dystopian future in which mutants are incarcerated in internment camps. An adult Kate Pryde transfers her mind into her younger self, the present-day Kitty Pryde, who brings the X-Men to prevent a fatal moment in history that triggers anti-mutant hysteria.
The film is a sequel to X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men: First Class and The Wolverine, taking place in both 1973 and 2023 concurrently.
The first 30 mins of DOFP is brilliant. The confrontation between future Xmen and the advanced Sentinels is gripping and ferocious. Wish the film spent more time with her. Made me pine for another fabulous character Nightcrawler again. This film does not have a production-line feel about it, it's one of the few superhero films that is actually fun and interesting and has a kind of internal logic (as much as one can in a film where DNA mutation gives rise to the ability to control the weather via telepathy).
X-Men: Days Of Future Past. In the future, the mutants and the humans who help them are slaughtered by powerful robots named Sentinels. Professor Xavier, Wolverine, Magneto, Storm, Kitty Pryde, and her friends meet at a monastery in China and Xavier explains that the invincible Sentinels were created using the DNA of Mystique that was captured in 1973 when she tried to assassinate their creator Dr. Bolivar Trask. Xavier tells that their only chance is return to 1973 using Pryde's ability to join Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr to convince Mystique to give up her intention.
X-Men: Days of Future Past" is a bit better, but not substantially different than other superhero movies. It's as visually indistinct, and t-driven as most Marvel Comics-based projects, especially the gaggle of recent Avengers-related films.
With the stakes of the X-Men franchise at an all-time high, the score for X-Men: Days of Future Past helps to convey the urgency and desperation of the mutant plight as Professor Xavier and company fight for survival against the mighty Sentinels. Composed by John Ottman, the tense score sets the backdrop for the X-Men's race against time with its ominous tones and heart-pounding pacing. Like the film itself, the score for X-Men: Days of Future Past is a thrilling work that should help to revitalize and reinvent the previously waning franchise. X-Men: Days of Future Past. 1. The Future, Main Titles.
In the future, the mutants and the humans who help them are slaughtered by powerful robots named Sentinels. IE more time in the airport. Hank and Raven have a moment together. Also the final mutant stand in the future is altered by Rogue's presence.
